month – week – day – tableThe celebrated virtuoso partnership of Maire Ni Chathasaigh, "the greatest Celtic harper of our age" and Chris Newman, "one of the UK's most staggering and influential acoustic guitarists" has toured all over the world - from Shetland to New Zealand and from San Francisco to Kyoto. Though rooted in the Irish tradition, their performances on "blazing guitar and dancing harp" are a breathtaking blend of traditional Irish music, their own compositions, hot jazz, bluegrass and baroque, coupled with Maire's "clear, warm and expressive voice" and Chris's "subversively witty introductions". This rare local concert for Ilkley-based Chris and Maire is part of an extensive spring tour of the UK, Germany, the USA and Italy to promote the release of FireWire, their sixth album together.
