In Dolly's kitchen, just south of the Irish border in neutral Eire during the Second World War, a family come face to face with the "allies" - English and American soldiers who slip over the border for relaxation and romance.  Soon clashes of loyalty, jealousy and love invade the fragile peace of Dolly West's kitchen.

This hilarious and poignant play invites us to feel the soul of its characters and reflect on the uncharted paths we're led to by our choices.  McGuinness's central theme is that people and countries cannot be neutral; commitment is what makes life dangerous and painful, but also, ultimately, worth living.

"Frank McGuinness has written a bruiser of a play, solid and old-fashioned in that great Irish tradition that is both engrossing and blissfully funny."  The Guardian
