Life X 3

by Yasmina Reza

Directed by Jennie Aron

Monday 26 February - Saturday 3 March 2007

Wildman Theatre

Henri and Sonia are putting their son to bed and looking forward to a quiet night in, when the doorbell rings and to Henri’s horror he finds influential boss Hubert and his wife Ines, have arrived for dinner - a day earlier than expected! Nothing is funnier on stage than to see supposedly decorous people behaving badly; and Yasmina Reza, in Christopher Hampton's superb translation, gives us a dinnerless party from hell. Reza blends cruel observations with high comedy in an hilarious and poignant examination of our most personal intimacies and private longings, as copious amounts of Sancerre soon have the bile and hidden resentments flowing. A modern black comedy from the acclaimed French novelist and playwright, who is known for multi-award-winning “Art”.
